Autumn Films

Dear Readers,

It’s (almost) Autumn! I LOVE Fall. Beautiful colors, Pumpkin Spice Lattes, pumpkin flavored everything (okay maybe not everything), cardigans, scented candles, bonfires, boots, apple picking, cooler weather. I love it all. If that makes me a basic white girl, then so be it. I like what I like, and I like Fall. There is no lovelier season.

There is something so magical about the light peaking through the autumn colored leaves. It makes me feel new.

Truth be told it’s taken me about a week to finish this post because I keep getting distracted. Also, no, I am not blind. My glasses aren’t prescription, I just like them, haha. *patiently awaits comments about hipster stereotypes*

Aaanyways I’m getting sidetracked again. I think we can all agree that Fall is the best season. And what better way to spend a cozy afternoon than watching a movie while sipping apple cider? Am I right? Of course I am.

So, I have compiled a list of a few of my favorite movies, (they’re not all chick-flicks I promise) Go watch them. Unless you have something better to be doing than you should probably do that, but if you wanna procrastinate, might as well watch a great movie! #IPutTheProInProcrastinate

||The Book Thief||

“You’re stealing books? Why?”
“When life robs you, sometimes you have to rob it back.”

I love reading and watching movies about WWII. The things people went through during that time are truly amazing, it gives me a better perspective on my own life. I highly recommend this movie! It’s so good.

||Pride and Prejudice||

“You have bewitched me, body and soul.”

There is a controversy over which Pride and Prejudice movie is the best. However, this one is my personal favorite. I think Kiera Knightley does a lovely job of portraying Elizabeth Bennet. Also gotta love the all-around aesthetic of the film, and don’t even get me started on the soundtrack. I can never overwatch this movie, go check it out! But if you haven’t already seen it you should be ashamed of yourself!

||Pirates of the Carribean||

It’s a pirate’s life for me, Savvy? The first is the BEST hands down, don’t argue. The soundtrack is wonderful, I love to try to play the theme song on my violin.

||A Walk To Remember||

“Our love is like the wind. I can’t see it but I can feel it.”

***Warning*** watching this movie will likely cause ugly crying. Is this a sappy love story? Yes, yes it is. But, it’s a darn good one! This classic 90’s film is a tear-jerker, I’ve seen it multiple times, but I still cry every. single. time. The book is amazing too!

||You’ve Got Mail||

“We spend so much of our time talking about nothing, but I just want to let you know, all those nothings have meant more to me than so many somethings.”

One of the best rom-coms ever made! It’s charming, funny, and romantic. So if you’re into that sort of thing you’ll love it. Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan have great chemistry. Also, how cute is Kathleen Kelly’s little bookstore?!

||National Treasure||

“Why can’t they just say ‘Go to this place, here’s the treasure, spend wisely’?” -Riley

This movie is so funny and full of adventure! I love it.

||The Amazing Spider-Man||

I honestly don’t know if I can pick a favorite Spider-Man movie now that Tom Holland is in the game. He is refreshingly funny and relatable and I like that. However, The Amazing Spider-Man movies are pretty great! No need to pick favorites.

||Little Women||

“I think we are all hopelessly flawed.”

I used to watch this movie on VHS when I was little. Then I would rewind it, and watch the whole thing backwards. Those were the days…

“Late at night my mind would come alive with voices and stories and friends as dear to me as any in the real world. I gave myself up to it, longing for transformation.” -Jo March

Jo has always inspired me to write. Isn’t it crazy how fictional characters can have such a huge impact on us?

Alright, that concludes my list! There are so many other movies I wanted to put in here, but the post would have been massive. So this will have to do, (for now) there may or may not be a part two. Stay posted!

Happy movie watching! What are some of your favorites? Let me know in the comments!

Sincerely, Bri

    I LOVE little women, and the book thief is really good, but I haven’t seen it in forever! I read this post and then walked straight over to Evans Brothers and got a Pumpkin Spice Latte 😂.♥️♥️♥️. I’m SO excited to see you again soon!😘

    *sighs because the aesthetic of this post is just so lovely* I love fall and all the movies you choose! And that quote from Jo March makes me feel so inspired and nostalgic.
